With 194 sites, this campground is the largest in Glacier National Park. Lake McDonald is a brief walk from the campground. The visitor center, gift shops, restaurant and other amenities at Apgar Village are also located nearby. The campground itself has potable water, flushing toilets and a garbage removal service. There's a nightly fee of $20 and reservations are not necessary. Primitive camping is $10 per night in April and October.
Old-growth cedar and hemlock trees keep this 87-site campground cool during the summer. Potable water, restrooms and fire pits are all available at the campground, but pack out any garbage. Access to the Going-to-the-Sun shuttle is also nearby. The nightly fee is $20 and sites are first-come, first-serve.
