Re: “Still waiting

I understand Sweitzer's earlier dillema with the weight of an angus bull on your shoulders being lifted w/out making such decision. The Death Penalty is what it is. And if it is law and the sentence was death - then I too wonder about someone living 30 more years instead of being snuffed out and fresh space made in the jailhouse. An eye for an eye was the decisions of multiple hearings.

Re: “Staffers at Partnership Health Center in Missoula allege harassment, wrongful discharge

Im a current employee and I have mixed reviews on this ordeal. I have seen only be hear say the treatment of administration on the front line work force. The worst of the mistreatment of by supervisors comes from Terri Delgadillo to the reception staff. Her staff is terrified to ask for sick time becasue of ridicule and threatening body language. They are often told to take care of patient intake at the busiest clinic in town by themselfs with no help. The poor girls are downing and on the verg of tears because they cant keep up. She will sit in her office and tell her staff to "deal with it, and figure it out."

One the other hand there is another dept head that is very understanding and willing to put her boots on and get in the trenches as they say. I like working here, i like the people that i help to serve. I dont like being under paid (as do most). I dont know what is going to make things better as im just another cook in the kitchen.

I see that some one mentioned that one employee leaves crying. That is true i have seen that, and probably been reason for it at one point. This is a tough place to work there are ungratfull and mean people that get care here. that is the nature of the beast and we have no time for cry babies. this is the real world..... I could go on.

Re: “Traps by Lily Gladstone

Hey there Independent my name is Joseph T. Grady, & i just wanted to mention that I co-authored TRAPS with Lily, and even gave birth to the idea while having a conversation with Lily, about expanding the basement space of the new Payne Family NA building on the U of M campus. I have also landed ROLLS in the upcoming films, Winter in the Blood (Presently going to the LA Film Fest), Jimmy P by Arnaud Desplechin (presently at Cannes) and have landed a small roll in the up coming film by Matthew Miller, Subterranea. I'm presently writing and drafting another extended play out of TRAPS and a futuristic Native American Film screen play set in North America 200 years in the future and am starting by creating a graphic novel of the story. I love theater and film and am also a working painter/drawer/artist and writer. I love singing and acting and being creative. just thought I'd introduce myself.

Re: “Flathead

So only people that live there can use the lakes? Well if the water is coming from public water source then it would seem to me that should be a public lake also. Reminds me of Lake blain you can't even get to use the lake even with the small supposedly public access spot. I am all for growth but there are so many places that we use to be able to use that has been closed to the public makes you wonder what is next

Re: “Flathead

That's got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard. A water skiing community, in Montana of all places? Anything to make a buck. :-(

Re: “Old Montana

Thank you Brian for putting into words what so many of us feel about Mr. Ankney. I had the pleasure of shaking his hand at the Capital Rotunda when the Governor signed the bill striking down Montana's uncontsitutional sodomy law. Without Mr. Ankney's public and unabashed support, the bill would never have passed.

He was an unassuming man, seemingly overjoyed and a bit bemused with all the attention he was getting. I can see him chuckling to himself on the long drive back to Colstrip about his new found celebrity, saying, as any "Old Montanan" would, "I just did the right thing."

And, thank you Duane Ankney for doing so. You have made a world of difference in the lives of countless other Montanans.

Re: “No redemption

Two Words. MARC RACICOT !! What this man (A very poor version of one I might add) has done as a prosecutor and a Govenor, is a crime in itself. Remember Mt. Power's De-regulation on the 11th Hour?. Now this man has NO Consience!!

Re: “No redemption

It is not unusual for prosecutors to embellish or tell complete lies to judges or jury's to get convictions. The defense attorney has no way to counter or confront the falsehoods. This is why minimum of 15 percent of inmates in Montana prisons are innocent. The public needs to be educated about the judicial system that is not about justice but rather a game of ego's and money. If one were to discover the depths of corruption in this system, one could only assume that the system particularly in Montana, is littered with socio paths only interested in their own gain. The question is, how could a man or woman of good conscience fight so hard to keep an innocent person in prison. The only answer could be is that they have no conscience.

Re: “Staffers at Partnership Health Center in Missoula allege harassment, wrongful discharge

A friend of mine works at PHC and the stories they have told me are unbelievable at best! The hostile work environment created by other employees, not Kim, Teri or Mary Jane is terrible. This friend often leaves crying. They have gone to HR Patty B and was told to move on and/or seek counselling! This persons co-workers are cruel! However, time after time they have gone to supervisors, HR and even Kim with no avail. Moral seems very low. Pay increases/evaluations for employees are unheard of. This friend takes anti-anxiety medication before going to work. With all of the above and stories from my friend I wonder how is the patient care suffering? Clearly something needs to be done. I hope this lawsuit opens some eyes. Obviously, some changes need to be made. I commend the six who finally stood up and took a stand. It would be a shame if PHC lost federal funding due to poor management and cruel people.

Re: “Appalling testimony

You are correct Mr. Moe did sign the hospice papers I was there I am his sister. My Mom was not denied anything, she made her own decisions and I am so very proud of her. The doctors did tell us at one point that our Mom maybe be able to live 6 months to two years however after the surgery it was evident that it was through out her body and our other brother asked how long she would have and the oncologist said 4 to 6 weeks. She died at 5 weeks. It is unfortunate that our brother continues to smear Hospice and my mothers care take carers. I am honored that they took care of my Little Mama and all of us as well. had my Mom gotten medical care before she nearly starved herself to death right in front of my brother she maybe just maybe would have lived that 6 months to two years. Hospice doesn't have the power to override any POA without taken legal action, which was never an issue. My Little Mama's last 5 weeks were spent with her children and we were able to Love and share so much, I am truely blest by the gifts I recieved from her during her last days and will always be thankful to Hospice and the nurses at Park Place. Very Sincerely, LeAnne (Moe) Neel

i believe that he should get a new trial. to many un-answered forensic questions in this case. the bloody palm print that belongs to nobody.(???). un-matched pubic hair.

testimony that brings a new suspect(s)

Sissy Atkinson and her friends from jelousy

hell you can even count Kim's own boyfriend as a suspect after arguing about something that day she dies some time during the night.

instead of pissing andd moaning about not being able to work every other friday and having to move motions or other hearings because of this..

Re: “Schweitzer

He should run and his first act as a candidate should be thanks but no thanks, Montanan's are against DC based outside groups having influence on Montana's congressional delegation and say, "If I'm going to Washington, I'm going to CHANGE Washington, and PCCC can keep the change."

Re: “Flash in the Pan

Alf said: "Do you protest as loudly and emotionally the same conditions and treatment for other livestock -- such as cattle, sheep, hogs, goats and poultry -- headed for the same fate ?"
Yes.

Wm. B. said: "i see lots of complaints but no real solutions to the problems the system is facing..." Really? Several solutions are offered in these comments. 1) get exotic livestock off the public range 2) birth control 3) stop domestic horse overbreeding, making adoptions more likely 4) stop native predator eradication 5) sanctuary

Kate: " maybe it's time that we all became a little repulsed with the lack of dignity and respect shown to the animals we eat on a daily basis."
I agree (but I would say "a lot repulsed"). However, horses are no more intelligent than pigs, a billion-plus who suffer in this nation's factory farms. Intelligence shouldn't be the standard for who gets killed--sentience should. Jeremy Bentham (born 1748) famously said, "The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?"

BTW, if you dare, you can watch horse-eater Sappington (whom Ari mistakenly identifies as the owner of Valley Meat) execute his horse (both edited and unedited versions are available) at the aforementioned link to "A Tale of Two Horses." Bon appetit.

Re: “Circus act

There are so many ways humans mistreat animals it is hard to decide where to start in fighting for better laws to protect them.

I have been made aware of many states passing laws to make documenting animal abuse against the law. In California, the law calls it TERRORISM to take pictures of industry abuse of animals, like puppy mills, or meat producers, such as the chicken ,pig or cattle industry, who confine animals in pens where they can not even turn around, Or egg producers, where chickens spend their lives packed in little cages. Or slaughter houses that use cruel methods on "downers" that cannot stand long enough to be killed properly.

Many pictures have been posted on Facebook lately of the treatment on "factory" farms . The abuse these animals endure for their short life, Is sickening. And the industry is being pressured to stop such cruelty. Their answer is to make it illegal to document the continuing abuse. The treatment of living, feeling, creatures. as if they were machines, kept and fed, in the smallest possible space, It increases the profit margins for the company. The feelings of the animal is of no concern to them. And they are fighting to prevent the public from seeing just how inhumane it really is.

I only hope we open our eyes and see some of the more pervasive cruel treatment done to millions of animals who are raised to die for our food. And work for their humane treatment. And not allow laws to be passed to protect the industry that treats animals as crops with out feelings.
